Mary Barra is the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors, having been elected Chair of the GM Board of Directors in 2016 and serving as CEO since 2014. Leading GM, she envisions a future with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion, focusing on customer experience and advancing personal mobility through technologies like connectivity, electrification, and autonomous driving. Before her current role, Barra held various executive positions at GM, including executive vice president of Global Product Development and Global Human Resources. With a career at GM since 1980, she has played key roles in vehicle launches, manufacturing engineering, and human resources. Barra holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Beyond GM, she is the Chair of the Business Roundtable and serves on the boards of the Walt Disney Company and Duke University, among other roles.
